Job Description
The Flagger works with the Traffic Control Department at work sites to direct motorists by flagging them away from worker activities, moving equipment, oncoming traffic and perform duties listed below.
o Generally, works under the Supervision of Project Manager, Traffic Control Supervisor, Traffic Control Technician, or Flagger II or maybe assigned to work independently
o Follow all safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment (work boots – 6 inches with safety toe, safety glasses, cut level 4 ANSI gloves, hard hat, and safety vest all issued by RoadSafe)
o Without Supervision must be able to set up and perform flagger position at job site based on site plan and or contractor directions. o Set-up signs, cones, etc. around work areas to divert traffic
o Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures o All other duties as assigned
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate 2-way radio
• Work well in a team environment
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and timely
• Provide highest level of customer service to all customers
• Excellent attendance required, dependable transportation, good work ethic
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
▪ Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; moving equipment and machinery parts; moving traffic, and fumes and airborne particles
▪ Regularly required to stand/walk; reach with hands and arms; for up to 14 hours a day
▪ Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate/loud
▪ Occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
REQUIREMENT:
o Excellent communication skills
o Previous flagging experience a plus
o Full-time availability (to include days / shifts)
o Ability to pass a drug test
o Ability to clear DOT physical screening
o Valid drivers license (driving position)
o Ability to pass comprehensive background check (that includes a guardian screening, criminal widescreen, and MVR for driving positions)
o Ability to pass company sponsored flagger certification
o Ability to participate and pass company sponsored defensive driving training
o Reliable means of transportation to and from work (office)
