Job Description
The Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) will complete the operations of assigned traffic control/safety projects setting up and taking down lane closures. The TCS will take direction from Dispatcher, Project Manager, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, or prime contractor as it relates to project work. They perform lane closures on state highways and other roadways. They redirect traffic for workers or survey crews. They lead traffic control crews and supervise job sites (MOT). May Assemble, deliver, and pick up safety products from job sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
➢ Leads daily Traffic Control Technicians.
➢ Place temporary construction signs in work area.
➢ Assure timesheets and tickets are completed daily.
➢ Place arrow board or variable message board in work area.
➢ Place traffic cones and other traffic safety devices in work area.
➢ Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
➢ Delivers daily toolbox talks, safety training as it relates to the job.
➢ Operates company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job site.
➢ Shop work which may include general maintenance and repair of equipment.
➢ Pick up traffic control items at beginning and end of shift and load into the truck.
➢ Drive MOT (Management of Traffic) vehicle to and from project and on work site.
➢ In charge of assuring safety on the job site and all employees follow PPE (work boots – 6 inches with safety toe, safety glasses, cut level 4 ANSI gloves, hard hat, and safety vest all issued by RoadSafe) & safety requirements.
➢ Check work zone throughout shift to be sure items are still in their proper location.
➢ Drive TMA (Truck Mounted Attenuator) vehicle to and from project and on work site to protect workers and work zone.
➢ Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication skills
Valid Florida Advance Certification
Previous Traffic Control / MOT experience a plus
Full-time availability (to include days / shifts)
Ability to pass a drug test
Ability to clear DOT physical screening
Valid drivers license
Ability to pass comprehensive background check (that includes a guardian screening, criminal widescreen, and MVR)
Ability to participate and pass company sponsored defensive driving training
Reliable means of transportation to and from work (office)
