Correctional Transition Academy
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has a Statewide Workforce Development Program that identifies transitional candidates ready to enter the workforce. The Correctional Transition Academy (CTA) partners with community-based organizations and contractors to provide a road-construction-focused curriculum, introducing second chance candidates to careers in the road and bridge industry. The program works the Federal Department of Correction (FDC), OnBoard4Jobs Construction Careers, and contractors to provide employment to the second-chance community.
CONTRACTORS WISHING TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS INITIATIVE WILL:
- Identify adults ready to enter the workforce.
- Connect transitional candidates with contractors statewide.
- Develop a road-construction-focused curriculum for use by all program training staff.
- Work with the FDC Transition Team, OnBoard4Jobs Construction Careers, and contractors to employ candidates.
