About Chinchor Electric:

Chinchor Electric is an Industrial Electrical company. We perform heavy Industrial Electrical, Highway Lighting, and Traffic Signalization. We work with both corporate clients and government entities and maintain yearly contracts with Orange, Seminole, Osceola, and Volusia counties, as well as the Florida Department of Transportation. We are fully licensed and bonded and offer on-site estimating and competitive bidding.

  • Pay:$18+Negotiable – Based on experience and certifications.
  • 10% differential for night work
  • Must be able to work out-of-town or nights occasionally.Per diem is included.

Responsibilities and Duties:

ITS Technician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of electronic traffic control devices. Work involves assembling, installing, servicing, testing, repairing, and adjusting electrical and mechanical components of traffic signals and related equipment. Other duties include but not limited to

Installing and maintaining pole lines and overhead traffic signs.

Understanding oral and written instructions that may be accompanied by detailed plans.

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.

Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components.

Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to ensure compliance with codes.

Common systems to be familiar with are as follows; Wrong way detection, CCTV, WIM, RSU’s, Video detection, Loop Detection, Train Detection, Fiber Optic Systems, SCADA, Bluetooth, Lidar and several more.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clean driving record, Class A CDL preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • ISMA Florida Certification (Preferred).
  • Two years of electrical field experience (Required).

Physical Demands

Must be able to perform multiple tasks and can handle the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, driving, operating equipment, and lifting at least 50lbs.
