*Primary Responsibilities:
Traffic Signal Installer is responsible for the installation and maintenance of electronic traffic control devices. Work involves assembling, installing, servicing, testing, repairing, and adjusting electrical and mechanical components of traffic signals and related equipment. Other duties include but not limited to
Assembling and Installing Traffic Signal Poles and overhead traffic signals, Overhead Signs, pedestrian features, and other related Signal components.
Understanding oral and written instructions that may be accompanied by detailed plans.
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to ensure compliance with codes.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Traffic Signal Installation: 1- 2 Years (PREFERRED)
- CDL A (clean driving record required)
- IMSA Certification
- Experience in highway lighting systems, electrical wiring systems, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and roadway signing (PREFERRED)
- Have necessary skills in understanding the plans and specifications, means and methods of construction and reporting (PREFERRED)
Physical Demands:
- Safe worker with clean driving record
- Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Stand, sit or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
- Communicate with employees, managers, subordinates and guests through verbal communication, hearing ability and visual acuity.
